How we work

Three ways to work with us. One rule: you pay after you accept.

Every division delivers through the same engagement models, carried by our delivery model, 2good.dev. Output is defined before work starts, outcomes are measured after it ships, and the delivery risk sits with us.

In short

How can I work with Code Colonies?

Through one of three engagement models. O2E (Output Oriented Engagement) buys fixed blocks of capacity against a signed specification. FDE (Forward Deployed Engineering) places engineers and strategists inside your team. TSE (The Startup Engine) is a build partnership for early stage founders.

Which model should I pick?
O2E if you can describe the work up front. FDE for AI and integration work where the problem is still being worked out. TSE if you are a founder looking for a partner in the build.
Is anything paid in advance?
No. Under O2E you check each output against the signed specification and pay after you accept it.
What is the hourly rate?
USD 2 or INR 199 an hour at the 2good.dev Prime tier, with a 150 hour minimum. Taxes as applicable.
Where do I start?
The Engagement Finder suggests a model in under a minute, or you can book a call.

In practice

How an output moves from build to invoice.

  1. Step 1Done

    Specification signed

Business discovery and requirements become a signed technical specification. It defines what done means.

  2. Step 2Done

    Output built

We build in capacity blocks with senior review, QA and project management included.

  3. Step 3Done

    You review

You test the output against the specification. Nothing is billed while you review.

  4. Step 4Locked

    Payment locked

The invoice cannot be raised until you accept the output.

Accept the output to release the invoice.

USD 2 or INR 199 per hour

Minimum engagement of 150 hours. No advance. Pay after acceptance. Taxes as applicable.

Questions

About the models

What if the output does not meet the specification?

You do not accept it, and we fix it. Since payment comes after acceptance, you never pay for work that falls short.

What happens if requirements change?

We write the change into the specification and agree it with you before building it, so the acceptance test stays clear.

Do FDEs work on site?

Mostly remote. They come on site for workshops and launches, or where your security policy says they must.

Can the pod size change?

Yes. A pod can grow or shrink with the stage of work, on a notice period agreed at the start.

How is equity decided?

It depends on your stage, the scope and how much of the cost you cover. We agree it in writing before any work starts.

Can you join after we have launched?

Yes. We can come in at any of the eight lifecycle phases, from ideation to exit.
